Our Seymour 9-10 Softball All Stars ended their run at the Sectional Tournament held in Orange with a third place finish and 2 - 2 record. After dropping the first two games to Orange (1-0) and Fairfield (16-4), Seymour charged back with two wins against Bristol (7-1) and last night against Darien (12-3).
The opening game against Orange was an 8 inning pitcher’s duel ending in a 1 – 0 loss. Fairfield took advantage of some defensive lapses and jumped to an early lead which could not be overcome.
Fighting back in true Seymour tradition, our girls took an early lead on Bristol. Backed with solid pitching, the bats came alive to get our first victory in the Sectional Tournament. The final game held Tuesday night against Darien saw our girls break out for 12 runs to take their final game of the tournament and season.
Congratulations to the Seymour 9-10 Softball All Stars for a successful District 3 Tournament title victory and a solid third place showing in the Sectional Tournament.
Fairfield defeated Orange 3 -2 in Section 1 title Game

Our Seymour 9-10 Softball All Stars defeated Shelton 7-1 Sunday evening in the District 3 Title Game. Rebounding from a heartbreaking 8-inning 6-5 loss on Saturday evening to Shelton, the Seymour Girls struck for 3 runs in the first and added two more to go up 5-0. Shelton put a run on the board in the 4
th inning and Seymour put the game away by adding two more in the top of the sixth. A super pitching performance backed by error-free defense locked up the District 3 Title and will send our girls onto the Sectional Tournament in Orange.

There was a photographer at the championship game who took many great photos. He also witnessed some less than sportsmanlike behaviour.

The team of players from Shelton and Seymour captured the post season fall ball tournament for 12-14 year old girls. After dropping their first game in extra innings, they came back to win 5 in a row to walk away with the championship last Saturday & Sunday at the Old Tavern Road Complex in Orange.
